Govt. Mahakoshal Arts & Commerce Autonomous College library was instituted with the inception of the college in 1836. It started with a few books and today it has more than 70,000 books and bound journals in its collection. It has a rare collection of books and other knowledge resources. The library and information services are dedicated to education and enrichment of students and faculty. Library has a specialized collection in the area of Arts and Commerce and its allied areas. Retired faculty, researchers, academicians and industrialists regularly consult the material of their interest. Facilitating access to an immense learning resource, the library is considered one of the richest in Jabalpur for its collection of books on both Arts and Commerce subjects. It has a collection of more than 3000 rare books as well as well preserved manuscripts. These manuscripts Parag and Nirjhar (handwritten college magazines) date back to the mid-twentieth century. The college has a substantially high number of visually
challenged learner enrollment for whom the library has a separate Braille books section. Library has Three Special Section for Rare Books. One is Osho’s Rare Books.This section is a collection of those books, which is read by Rajneesh Chandra Mohan (Osho Rajneesh). Reference-Journals Rare Books Section is a collection of those Reference and Journals Titles, which is Out of Print and enlisted in Reference Books, Journals . The section of Rare Books is a collection of a number of text books which is Out of Print.
